First Quarter Highlights

Justin Herbert, Derwin James, Denzel Perryman, Khalil Mack, Rashawn Slater, and Bradley Bozeman were the Chargers captains. The Raiders won the toss and elected to defer, allowing the Bolts to start on offense at the 36-yard line after Derius Davis had a 35-yard kickoff return. The Bolts advanced past midfield but were eventually forced to punt following Herbert's sack on third down. The Raiders struggled with a three-and-out as the Bolts defense dominated. The Bolts, however, also went three-and-out on their next possession.

Facing fourth-and-1 at their own 41-yard line, the Raiders had a run stopped by Poona Ford for a tackle for loss. Capitalizing on solid field position, the Bolts secured points as Cameron Dicker nailed a 53-yard field goal to take an early lead at 3-0. The Raiders responded with a couple of third-down conversions and capped off their drive with a 31-yard touchdown pass, leading 7-3 at the end of the first quarter.
