Congress leader Rahul Gandhi began his three-day visit to the US with his arrival in Dallas, Texas, where he received a warm reception from the Indian diaspora and members of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC).

Sharing his experiences on social media, he stated, “I am truly delighted by the warm welcome I’ve received in Dallas, Texas, USA, from the Indian Diaspora and members of the Indian Overseas Congress.” He looks forward to engaging in meaningful discussions that aim to fortify the bond between India and the US during his trip.

Significance of the Visit

This trip marks Rahul Gandhi's first journey to America since the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. His agenda includes being in Dallas on September 8 and in Washington, DC from September 9-10.

IOC chief Sam Pitroda expressed the enthusiasm of the Indian diaspora, stating that “There are lots of events planned with a variety of people” who have interests in states where Congress party governs.
