Gordon Ramsay Opens Up About His Terrifying Bike Crash

Gordon Ramsay's Scary Bike Incident

Gordon Ramsay isn’t known for showing off his vulnerable side. But his recent bike crash was enough to scare even him. If you follow Ramsay on social media, you’ll have heard about the crash, and you’ll no doubt have seen the video of him showing off his war wounds too. What you may not know is how Ramsay got himself into that state. In an exclusive interview, Ramsay revealed exactly what happened on that day and what caused him to say he was 'lucky to be here'.

Accident Details

‘My life flashed before me,’ said Ramsay. ‘[I was] travelling down the hill quite fast, no other cars involved. The front wheel went down a pothole, and the whole bike just catapulted me. I struggled to breathe. I thought I was going to pass out. I put the chain back on and started riding again, but then I realized I was in trouble.’

After the Crash

After the accident, Ramsay was rushed to the hospital for a CT scan. Thankfully, he was given the all-clear. However, he found the recovery process embarrassing, saying, ‘I couldn't even put my fucking socks and pants on. Justin used to dress me in the morning. I felt like a fucking 95-year-old man.’ Fortunately, Ramsay is back to training—swimming and cycling—thanks to his fitness level.

Resilience Through Fitness

‘If I wasn’t fit and those bones weren’t strong, I’d be screwed,’ Ramsay added, attributing his recovery to his dedication to fitness. He declares, ‘I’m lucky to be here because I’m fit.’
