It’s game time in Iowa City! The Hawkeyes are set to play host to the Cyclones in the 2024 running of the El Assico Cy-Hawk series! It took a half to get things headed in the right direction, but it seems like Iowa might actually have an offense this year to pair with their always incredible defense.

On the other sideline, the Cyclones got off to a hot start in their opener with a 2-play, 71-yard touchdown drive against North Dakota. From there, however, things seem to stall out with only two additional scoring drives in the final 59 minutes and 22 seconds.

Adding to the drama this year, the Cyclones enter the day with myriad injuries on the defensive side of the ball. Could the Hawkeyes actually out-gun Iowa State? Or are we once again being duped into making a run at the football only for Lucy to pull it away at the last second? We’ll know soon enough as the Hawkeyes play host to the Iowa State Cyclones inside Kinnick Stadium!
