Toprak Razgatlioglu Faces Setback at Magny-Cours

Toprak Razgatlioglu has been ruled out of the remainder of the French WorldSBK Round. On Friday morning, nobody could get near Toprak Razgatlioglu around Magny-Cours. However, in the afternoon, Razgatlioglu experienced a massive crash, with his body hitting a wall at the side of the circuit.

Medical Update on Razgatlioglu

Following the crash, it was determined that Razgatlioglu would participate no further in the weekend's events. The Turkish rider was immediately taken to the medical centre where he was diagnosed with a back contusion. Razgatlioglu was then transported to a local hospital, where he was ruled out of the weekend due to a mild traumatic pneumothorax.

A statement from BMW summarized the situation: “ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK rider Toprak Razgatlioglu (TUR) has to sit out the remainder of the eighth round of the 2024 FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK) at Magny-Cours (FRA). Following his heavy crash in Free Practice 2 and medical checks in Moulins hospital, he has been declared unfit by the WorldSBK medical team for the rest of the weekend.” Sven Blusch, Head of BMW Motorrad Motorsport, extended well wishes: “The entire BMW Motorrad Motorsport family wishes Toprak a very speedy recovery. After his great success, this is obviously a setback, but health is the most important thing. We are looking forward to having him back at the racetrack as soon as possible. An update on his recovery will follow at the given time.”
