Remco Evenepoel (24) expressed his satisfaction following the fourth stage of the Tour de Grande-Bretagne. The Belgian rider was thrilled to see his teammate Paul Magnier secure a victory, highlighting his improved feelings after a tougher day prior. 'My work is done', he declared to VTM NIEUWS, prior to heading for an additional training session of about 80 kilometers.

Evenepoel's Reflections on Race Performance

Evenepoel explained: 'I had to respond to a few attacks, like that of Hayter. It went well, everything worked better than yesterday. The conditions were also more pleasant.' He emphasized his goal of gaining race rhythm and improving during his stay in Britain. 'That's why I recorded the time trial, for an additional lap of 70 to 80 kilometers, about two hours after this short stage.'

A Tribute to Julian Alaphilippe

Evenepoel also paid tribute to his teammate Julian Alaphilippe, stating: 'He is one of the most iconic riders in the history of the team. Becoming world champion two years in a row, few can say that. Many victories, a good fifteen days in yellow during the Tour... A legend in Quick-Step's history. And a great guy.'
