Details of the Unfall A72 Incident

On a Friday afternoon, two people were injured in a severe collision on the A72 highway near Treuen (Vogtlandkreis). According to the police report, a 55-year-old man attempted to overtake a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old woman and subsequently made an unsafe lane change, resulting in both vehicles coming into contact.

The impact led to the 55-year-old's vehicle veering off the road, crashing into a concrete barrier, and finally coming to a halt in the left lane. Emergency services dispatched a helicopter to transport the critically injured driver to a hospital.

His passenger, a 52-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was treated on-site.
