As Calgary and the hockey community continue to mourn the passing of Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, the Calgary Flames are inviting fans to gather for a Candlelight Vigil tonight at 8 p.m. MT.

The vigil will be a 45-minute event, featuring a special 13-minute memorial segment for Johnny and Matthew, complete with speakers from the Flames organization.

Memorial Site and Candles

In preparation for the event, mementos dedicated to Johnny and Matthew have been relocated on the west stairs, with fans encouraged to visit the grassy area north of these stairs as the new memorial site. The vigil will introduce a special digital candle available through the Calgary Flames app for attendees to use on their smartphones.

Plan Your Trip

Stampede Trail will be closed between 14th Ave SE and 17th Ave SE for the event. Public parking is accessible via the lot on 11th Ave (north) and Stampede parking lots available only through 25th Ave. Season ticket members will have designated pass holder parking. Public Transit can be accessed through Erlton & Victoria stations.

For those unable to attend, a live stream of the Candlelight Vigil along with a digital memory book will be available on CalgaryFlames.com and the Flames app.
