Nikki Haley's Strategic Move to Edelman

Nikki Haley has joined global communications firm Edelman as vice chair of its international public affairs team, the company announced Wednesday. Edelman CEO Richard Edelman praised Haley's experience as a former United Nations ambassador and two terms as governor of South Carolina.

Politics has become a critical consideration for clients in brand marketing, employee engagement and reputation management,” he said. In her time as Governor, Haley had great success in attracting foreign companies to South Carolina and as Ambassador to the UN, helped lead important work on global issues.

Haley expressed her excitement in joining Edelman's Global Advisory (EGA), stating, “In a time of growing complexities in business, policy, and politics — brands need to anticipate what’s coming next.” Whether managing a crisis or celebrating success, leaders must communicate clearly and share their vision forward, she emphasized.

Haley is set to officially join the firm this month. Earlier this year, she suspended her presidential bid after facing multiple primary losses to former President Trump. Following her campaign, she endorsed the GOP nominee during a Republican National Convention speech.

Since stepping out of the race, Haley has remained vocal on various international issues, notably American support for Israel. Additionally, she joined the Hudson Institute as the Walter P. Stern chair in April.

Edelman also welcomed former Sen. Max Baucus as a senior advisor for the EGA. Baucus, who served as an ambassador to China under former President Obama, brings unique experience on agricultural, trade, and tech issues.

A New Chapter in Politics and Public Relations

The collaboration of Haley and Baucus is expected to provide clients with unmatched counsel during challenging times.
