Incidents at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport

A passenger was removed from a Delta Airlines flight for wearing a t-shirt depicting former US president Donald Trump flipping the bird and a reference to the 'Hawk Tuah' girl video, said a report by New York Post.

The incident took place at the Sarasota Bradenton International Airport on Saturday morning. The male passenger was sporting a black t-shirt that displayed Donald Trump in American flag-colored sunglasses holding up two middle fingers.

  • Hawk tuah spit on that thang, the t-shirt reads in reference to the R-rated video.
  • The man remarked, “I’m getting kicked off because of my shirt,” as he exited with his luggage.

Delta's Policies on Passenger Attire

Prior to boarding, the passenger was approached by an airline staff member who requested he change his shirt or face exclusion from the flight due to a complaint.

He complied by turning his shirt inside-out, allowing himself and other passengers to board without incident. However, moments before take-off, a Delta employee came on board and escorted him off after he had reverted to displaying the shirt’s graphics.

  • Delta Airlines has noted that they can remove passengers when necessary for comfort or safety, which includes attire that could disturb others.
