Severe Weather Conditions Expected
RICHMOND, Va. -- A heat advisory remains in effect until 8 p.m. Scattered storms will become more prevalent this evening, particularly west of I-95. A severe thunderstorm watch is in place until 11 p.m. for northern Virginia. Meanwhile, there is a marginal risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe storms accompanied by high wind gusts and large hail.
Due to the humid conditions, storms are forecasted to produce torrential downpours. Areas experiencing multiple storms may accumulate several inches of rain. A flood watch is set for tonight.
