Weather NYC: A Weekend of Sun and Warmth Awaits the Tri-State Area
Weather NYC: A Weekend to Enjoy
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Saturday kicks off a great beach weekend in the tri-state area with continued warm and dry conditions and highs expected to be in the mid 80s.
Transition to Warmer Weather
Winds will shift from the northwest to the southwest by Saturday afternoon, bringing in even warmer temperatures on Sunday. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Monday will also see highs in the high 80s, accompanied by increased humidity as high pressure to the south pushes southern air into the region.
Possible Showers and Thunderstorms
A weak trough and low over the tri-state area could bring a few stray showers on Monday, but these should clear out by early Tuesday. By Wednesday, some areas may reach the mid 90s as summer remains vibrant. A cold front is expected to move through on Wednesday evening, stirring up late day thunderstorms.
After the front passes, cooler and comfortable air will return with highs around the mid 70s on Thursday and Friday.
