In the serene region of Rügen, a devastating incident unfolded on Tuesday. A 14-year-old girl was tragically struck and killed by a tractor after being thrown from her horse during a group ride.

While riding with seven others on a dirt path, the riders halted to allow a tractor with a tiller to pass. As the machine approached, the final horse unexpectedly reared up. This sudden action led to the girl being dislodged, and the tractor, unable to swerve in time, rolled over her. Despite immediate rescue attempts, the girl unfortunately succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

The criminal police, in cooperation with a DEKRA expert, are investigating the conditions surrounding the accident. Initial findings suggest potential indications of a crime, resulting in ongoing inquiries into negligent homicide against the tractor driver, who was sober at the time.
