The upcoming 28 Days Later sequel titled 28 Years Later has received thrilling updates. Producer Andrew Macdonald announced that the first film in this anticipated trilogy has completed production. "We’re making, hopefully, three more 28 films with the first one called 28 Years Later that Alex Garland has written, and Danny Boyle has directed, and has finished shooting," he said during the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
Filming for the Trilogy
Macdonald confirmed that the second installment has already begun filming, adding, "Then we’re just about to start, tomorrow morning, actually, part two. And then we hope there’s going to be a third part and it’s a trilogy." This new installment was first announced back in January, with Boyle directing and Garland returning as the screenwriter. Nia DaCosta of Candyman fame is at the helm for the second installment, currently in production.
