Starfield Shattered Space Expansion Announcement
Starfield's Expansion Unveiled
Earlier in the summer, Bethesda officially unveiled Shattered Space, the first major expansion for its sci-fi roleplaying game Starfield. Now, we finally have a date: the update will be launching on September 30th. It’s coming to both Xbox and PC.
New Features and Cosmic Threats
Along with the date, the studio also revealed a (brief) trailer for the expansion, showcasing its darker tone compared to most of the base game. The story centers on the mysterious faction known as House Va’Ruun and its homeworld, where players will encounter a frightening new cosmic threat and uncover the secrets behind the galaxy’s most enigmatic faction.
Additionally, the trailer focuses on a specific, highly-requested feature: a land vehicle called the REV-8. This vehicle will be available as part of a free update launching today, making planet exploration much less tedious. The update will also introduce new visual settings for those playing on Xbox Series S.
Starfield's Ongoing Journey
First released in 2023, Starfield is Bethesda’s first new franchise in many years. Meanwhile, other major properties from the developer, like Fallout, continue to thrive with an enduring online game and a hit TV show, while the next Elder Scrolls has been in development for several years.
