Multiple mild earthquakes have shaken regions of the Wheatbelt overnight. The 3.7 magnitude earthquake hit near Wyalkatchem - a remote town about 192km east of Perth - at approximately 5:40 PM on Thursday, striking at a depth of 6km.

Details of the Tremors

Understanding the Impact

Understandably, residents were concerned as earthquakes at a magnitude of three or four on the Richter scale typically cause mild shaking. However, they rarely result in substantial damage. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and updating the magnitude and location parameters as seismologists review the data. As of now, there have been no reported damages.
