PPDA Faces New Allegations of Sexual Violence from Multiple Women
New Developments in the PPDA Case
On Monday, two more women have officially lodged complaints with civil party constitutions against Patrick Poivre d'Arvor, known as PPDA, after their prior allegations were dismissed due to time limitations, according to the Nanterre prosecutor’s office.
Background of the Allegations
Previously, five other women filed complaints in June. This led to the involvement of two investigating judges on July 19th, which have now been joined to the ongoing judicial inquiry initiated in December 2021. Florence Porcel accused PPDA of raping her on two occasions, prompting further legal scrutiny.
Additional Charges and Witness Accounts
- PPDA was indicted in December 2023 regarding one of the alleged rapes.
- Several civil parties have joined the investigation, including three women who reported additional instances of sexual violence.
- In total, over 40 women have come forward to speak against the 77-year-old former news presenter, who denies all accusations.
Contacted by AFP, PPDA's lawyer, Me Jacqueline Laffont-Lhaïk, was unavailable for immediate comment.
