New Charges Against Accused Landlord
LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- A set of new rape charges were filed Tuesday against a Lancaster County landlord who is accused of sexually assaulting a former tenant. According to online court documents, Michael Rohrbach, 76, of Lancaster, was recently charged with felony counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse forcible compulsion, aggravated indecent assault and sexual assault.
Details of the Allegations
He was also charged with misdemeanor counts of indecent assault. Court records show that the alleged rape happened in December 2018, which is just two months after the first incident that was reported to Lancaster City Police in June. Rohrbach was previously accused of raping a former tenant inside her apartment while she was pregnant and sick, according to charging documents from Lancaster City Police.
When questioned, he claimed he did not remember what happened but admitted to being at the woman's house to work on a doorknob. The woman had to seek medical attention multiple times after the sexual assault, the charges show.
Ongoing Investigation
Police say there could be other tenants that Rohrbach sexually assaulted. Anyone with information is asked to contact them and talk to Detective Jared Snader at 717-719-4586 or Snaderj@lancasterpolice.com. Currently, Rohrbach is out on unsecured bail set at $100,000, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for Oct. 24.
