Quick Boys Katwijk Fans Search for Lost Historic Photos

Quick Boys Katwijk Fans Quest for Lost Photos
KATWIJK - Somewhere in Katwijk, there are supposed to be photos of a Quick Boys scarf being embedded in the wall of VV Katwijk's clubhouse. This playful act was carried out by dedicated Quick Boys fans approximately fifteen years ago. However, in 2024, those crucial images seem to be missing.
It is undeniable that pictures of this humorous action exist. The Leidsch Dagblad reported on November 28, 2009, ahead of the derby, that it had received images from a group known as QBF. The headline read, 'Quick Boys Stunt at De Krom.'
Quest for the Missing Images
The location where the scarf is cemented is indeed remarkable, as noted in a supporting email: 'The scarf is placed near the window of the ticket booth. Every Katwijk supporter passes by this spot weekly.'
Both Katwijk and Quick Boys fans affirm that this story is not a myth. However, the photos that were sent to the Leidsch Dagblad appear to be lost. It was an era when digital cameras were gaining popularity, potentially leaving them stored on a forgotten external hard drive.
Searching Through Archives
In light of the upcoming match against their local rivals Katwijk, Quick Boys fans have initiated a search through their archives. A picture of that incident from fifteen years ago would undoubtedly add more flair to derby day.
Interestingly, this search in 2024 has already produced another remarkable image. In 2014, construction for a new grandstand for VV Katwijk took place. Once again, there were workers with a Quick Boys spirit at the De Krom sports park, leaving their message in the framework: 'Hup Quick Boys' can be seen in the steel.
If you possess any photos of the embedded scarf, please email sport@omroepwest.nl or send a WhatsApp message to Omroep West.
