Solingen (dpa/lnw) - After extensive recovery efforts from the hazardous materials incident involving truck collisions, the Autobahn A3 near Solingen has been reopened in both directions. The completion of work was announced just before midnight, according to a police spokesperson.

Details of the Unfall

Reports indicate that a truck crashed into another truck in the direction of Köln, shortly before an exit. Firefighters quickly responded after police discovered damage on a hazardous materials drum, prompting immediate action. Fortunately, the drums were not compromised, and nothing leaked out during the incident.

Traffic Implications

  • Due to the Autobahn A3 sperrung, traffic congested significantly, leading to a peak backlog of 13 kilometers in the direction of Köln.
  • The opposite direction witnessed considerably fewer delays.
