JD Martinez's Impact on the Mets' NLDS Game 4 Lineup

The Mets have posted their lineup for NLDS Game 4 against the Phillies. With one more win, the Mets can punch their ticket into the NLCS for the first time since 2015. Also of note, the Mets are looking to clinch for the first time on their home turf since winning the NL East crown in 2006.

The lineup doesn’t look all that much different from the one they ran out there yesterday afternoon, and that shouldn’t be too surprising since they put together seven runs and nine hits in their Game 3 victory. The one difference is J.D. Martinez swapping in for Jesse Winker, which makes sense with the left-hander Ranger Suárez starting for Philadelphia. Here’s the full lineup:

• LHP - José Quintana

Mets players have had mixed results against Suárez in their respective careers. Marte has some of the best numbers against the left-hander, going 6-for-16 lifetime, while Iglesias is 6-for-8 against him in his career, including 4-for-6 in two contests this year. Lindor is also 5-for-16 with a home run against today’s starting pitcher. Meanwhile, Vientos is 3-for-15 against Suárez with a homer, while Martinez is 2-for-9 and Alonso is 2-for-17 with two doubles.
