Mysuru Dasara 2024: A Ten-Day Cultural Extravaganza

Mysuru, renowned for its rich heritage, is all set for the annual celebration of Mysuru Dasara. This notable festival will kick off with a ceremonial puja at Chamundi Hill on Thursday, led by esteemed writer and Nadoja award recipient Hampa Nagarajaiah, invoking blessings for the upcoming festivities.

The Grand Inauguration

The inauguration will feature a sacred ceremony where the idol of Goddess Sri Chamundeshwari will be the focal point. During the auspicious Vrishchika lagna, the rituals will be observed between 9.15 am and 9.45 am. Following this, the idol will be paraded in a golden howdah, escorted by Dasara elephant Abhimanyu, during the grand Dasara Jamboo Savari on October 12.
