Sudarshan's Controversial Post Leads to Unrest in Bhadrak

BHUBANESWAR/BALASORE: An order issued by the home department mandated the shutdown of mobile internet services and social media in Bhadrak following a violent protest due to an objectionable social media post. The protest turned chaotic when locals resorted to stone-pelting against the police, resulting in injuries to three officers, including Bhadrak Town police station IIC Ajay Sudarshan and SI Rojen Murmu.

During the protest, a group of residents demanded action against the post's author, leading to a rally near Santhia within the Bhadrak Town police station limits. Reports indicate that as police attempted to maintain order, they were met with resistance, including stone attacks from the demonstrators.

Government's Protocol on Prohibitory Orders

In the wake of escalating tensions, the Bhadrak district administration has imposed prohibitory orders, prohibiting any form of public gathering or protest indefinitely. The sub-collector, Manoj Patra, stated that any violations would be taken seriously.
