SALEM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — An SUV traveling the wrong way on a southeastern Michigan highway crashed into another vehicle during the morning rush Wednesday, killing three people, state police said.

Details of the Incident

  • A Nissan Rogue was traveling west on the eastbound side of M-14.
  • The driver attempted to leave the freeway using an entrance ramp.
  • The Rogue crashed into a Tesla entering M-14 in Washtenaw County.

The 53-year-old Tesla driver, along with a 31-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman in the Rogue, tragically lost their lives.

Investigation Ongoing

The collision did cause the Tesla to catch fire. Authorities are currently investigating whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, police said.
