iOS 18 Release Date and Time

iOS 18 is officially launching on Monday, with the download of updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS starting around 1pm in New York, 6pm in the UK, and approximately 3am on Tuesday in Sydney, Australia. This was first reported by the Guardian following Apple's developer conference announcement in June.

Exciting iOS 18 Features

Users can look forward to significant new features in iOS 18, such as:

  • Control center customization options
  • Smart math and handwriting tools for Notes
  • New watch faces
  • An extensive new home screen layout

iOS 18 will be compatible with all Apple smartphones starting from the iPhone XS released in 2018 and newer models. For iPads, iOS 18 can be installed on:

  1. iPad Pro (2018 and later)
  2. iPad Air (3rd generation and later)
  3. iPad mini (5th generation and later)
  4. iPad (6th generation and all newer models)

Mac users will be able to install iOS 18 on all MacBook Air models from 2020 and Newer MacBook Pros from 2018 onward. Apple Watch Series 6 or newer can run watchOS 11, which launches alongside iOS 18. Other compatible devices for macOS Sequoia, also releasing with iOS 18, include:

  • 2018 Mac minis
  • 2019 iMacs
  • Mac Studios (2022 and newer)
  • iMac Pro (2017)
  • Mac Pro (2019 and newer)

The installation process is simple: open the settings app on your device, navigate to General, and select Software Update to begin the download and installation of iOS 18.

Interestingly, improved Siri will not be available at launch, along with various AI tools from Apple, expected later this year. As a reminder, updates to iOS 18 are free; any requests for payment are scams.
