Srinagar: Kishtwar is once again at the center of action as encounters break out between security forces and terrorists across Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in the Poonch and Kathua districts.

Details of the Encounters

The encounter in the Pathanateer area near Gursai top in Mendhar sub-division of Poonch commenced late Saturday night, escalating well into Sunday afternoon. Officials report that an infiltrator may have sustained injuries during the exchange of fire, which has since concluded, yet search operations continue to track down militants.

Police officials have stated that armed forces were swiftly deployed, establishing a multilayer cordon to contain infiltrators in the region. Reports suggest that possibly more than two militants could still be in hiding.

Previous Incident in Kishtwar: Tragically, two army personnel were killed and two others sustained injuries in Kishtwar district on Friday, as tensions continue to rise in the area. In other related events, three militants were exterminated in Pattan area of northern Kashmir.
