Irish Open Tee Times: Day Three Highlights with Rory McIlroy in the Lead
Exciting Developments from Day Three of the Irish Open
Unfortunately that is the end of the action for Day Three of the 2024 Amgen Irish Open! It was a pleasure to keep you up to speed with the drama as it unfolded on the Royal County Down course. It was a superb afternoon for Rory McIlroy who is the outright leader on -6 after three rounds and another superb individual performance on a course he knows all too well.
Challengers Following McIlroy
- Matteo Manassero (-5) trails by a shot
- Rasmus Hojgaard and Robert MacIntyre (both -3) are three strokes behind
As for the other Irish names involved, Tom McKibbin fared best to finish one under for the day and sits in 13th-place on par. Seamus Power lies in 21st-place on +1, while Shane Lowry dropped to 30th-place with a poor third round to leave the Offaly native on +2. Amateur golfer, Sean Keeling had a day to forget firing a ten over 81, but it will act as a learning curve for the promising 17-year-old.
Looking Ahead to Final Round
The action will resume on RTE 2 and the RTE Player from 12.30pm tomorrow. We will be back bright and early with another Independent.ie live blog as anticipation builds for the last round, with reports soon to follow the conclusion of today's action shortly.
