Australian sailor Tom Slingsby has expressed hope that co-American Magic helmsman Paul Goodison will recover in time to rejoin the team during the America’s Cup. Goodison, who suffered an unspecified injury on September 7, is currently unable to race against Italy's Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli.

Slingsby revealed that Goodison experienced an injury while he had a fall on the boat. Although the New York Yacht Club American Magic has not disclosed the details of Goodison's injury, Slingsby confirmed that they are taking it day by day regarding his return. “Unfortunately, he won’t be with us tomorrow,” Slingsby said at a recent news conference.
