Latest Developments in Irland's Butter Market

Prices for contract-bound butter in Irland have surged, echoing the trends seen in block butter. According to information from the Süddeutsche Butter- und Käse-Börse in Kempten, the price for a kilogram of branded German butter has reached between €7.60 and €8.00, reflecting a week-over-week increase of 55 cents on the lower end and 45 cents on the upper end.

The quotation for bulk block butter was lowered by 20 cents to now stand at €8.10/kg. Conversely, the lower end remains unchanged at €7.80/kg.

Other Dairy Price Trends

  • Whole milk powder prices increased, with quotations rising by 13 cents on the lower end and 15 cents at the higher end, now ranging from €4.35 to €4.50.
  • Skimmed milk powder also saw price hikes, reaching €2.55 to €2.70/kg.
  • Skimmed milk powder for feed quality increased by 4 cents compared to the previous week, now priced at €2.42 to €2.46/kg.
