Nate Wiggins Out After Car Accident

Nate Wiggins has been ruled out for the upcoming home-opener against the Las Vegas Raiders after suffering a neck injury from a car accident, confirmed by Head Coach John Harbaugh on Friday.

“Looks like he’s not going to be able to make it to the game, so he’ll be out for this game with that,” Harbaugh said. “He’s healthy, he’s fine, but he’s just not going to be able to play.” Wiggins had managed to practice on Wednesday but missed sessions on Thursday and Friday.

Impact of Injuries

This unfortunate event marks the third car accident for a Ravens player this offseason, alongside tight end Mark Andrews and linebacker Josh Ross.

Wiggins, a first-round rookie cornerback, played 17 snaps during his debut against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 1, allowing one catch for just one yard according to Pro Football Focus.

Hope for Kyle Van Noy

In other news, some positive updates on injuries emerged, as Ravens veteran outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy returned to the field on Friday after suffering a fractured orbital bone in Kansas City.

Van Noy stated on his podcast, “McCoy & Van Noy,” that it was a “pretty good fracture” caused by an unfortunate collision involving Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and teammate Nnamdi Madubuike.

After Friday's practice, Van Noy shared he’s feeling “really good” and is “optimistic” about playing on Sunday. Harbaugh mentioned they will evaluate Van Noy's condition on Saturday.
