Warrnambool's Excitement Builds as Sycco Prepares for One Night Stand
Warrnambool's Music Scene Shines
A childhood dream is about to come true for musician Sycco as she takes to the stage for triple j's One Night Stand. Sasha McLeod, known as Sycco, is among artists including G Flip and Ruel who will be performing at Friendly Societies oval on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
Sycco's Musical Journey
She said performing at the festival was something she had always wanted to do. "I think One Night Stand is so special and it's been a dream of mine to play it," the musician said. "I'm so excited, I'm assuming the people of Warrnambool are going to show up and it's going to be an awesome day playing to a bunch of people."
Inspiration and Impact
McLeod drew inspiration from artists she'd seen at similar festivals, hoping to impact others as well. "The Australian music industry and live music in general is really hard right now; therefore, underage shows are not feasible," McLeod noted. "So hopefully I also have that sort of impact."
A Future in Warrnambool
Having recently moved to Melbourne, McLeod expressed interest in returning to Warrnambool for future shows. "If Warrnambool want me, I will be there," she said.
