Shannon Sharpe Addresses His Explicit Instagram Live Controversy
Shannon Sharpe's Embarrassing Moment
Shannon Sharpe, a professional football Hall of Famer, has come clean after an explicit video of him engaging in sexual activity went viral on social media. The act went viral after Sharpe went live on Instagram, where around 3.2 million followers heard him engaging in coitus.
Initially, Sharpe explained that his social media account was hacked, which he later denied in an emergency episode of “Nightcap” podcast. He confirmed it was him engaging in the act and is embarrassed for letting it out in public.
“Obviously I am embarrassed. Someone that is extremely, extremely private and to have one of your most intimate details – the audio – heard for the entire world to hear, I’m embarrassed for a number of reasons,” he said.
“There are a lot of people that count on Shannon to be professional at all times and I always try to be professional at all times, even when I’m behind closed doors. I’m very disappointed in myself, not for the act. I think there are millions and billions of people of consenting age that engage in activities, but for the audio to be heard I’m disappointed in myself. I let a lot of people down.”
Sharpe elaborated that he was unaware he was live when he threw his phone on the bed and engaged in the activity. He noted that he had never used IG live before and was surprised when notifications started coming in. “My phone wasn’t hacked. It wasn’t a prank, it was me being a healthy, active male,” he added.
Meanwhile, many fans have linked sports presenter Michelle Beadle to the incident. However, Beadle hastily clarified via social media, stating: “It was not me.”
