Mobile Tech Evolution: The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim

Samsung recently launched its 2024 flagship foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6. However, this year things are different, and there's an even more premium model on the way. Early leaks have been referring to it as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, but it looks like it may actually be called the Z Fold 6 Special Edition. We've heard plenty of rumors about this upcoming handset, but now, thanks to a report from Android Headlines, we get our first glimpse of the Special Edition handset in the flesh.

There's only a single image, and it's immaculately posed, so presumably this is one of Samsung's marketing photos. Thankfully, this image gives us a great look at the design, as well as revealing how thick it is. Only time will tell if it will make it onto our list of the best foldable phones. The new phone will have a brushed aluminium-effect rear panel and has a similar overall design to the standard Z Fold 6. The big difference is how slim it is.

Design Features and Predictions

  • Looks noticeably slimmer compared to the standard model.
  • Camera island remains in the same position with chunky bezels.
  • Possible thickness of 10.6mm when folded and 4.9mm unfolded.

At the same time, both displays will be a bit larger, 8 inches on the inside and 6.5 inches on the cover. We might even see the 200MP main snapper from the S24 Ultra. Before you get too excited, rumors say this new handset will be exclusive to South Korea and China. It's an unusual move from Samsung and would mean getting your hands on one in Western countries could prove challenging. We'll be keeping a look out for more news, but in the meantime, check out what we thought in our Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 review.
