HMD Smartphone Takes Design Cues from the Iconic Nokia Lumia 1020
HMD Smartphone Inspired by Nokia Lumia 1020 Design
HMD has launched the HMD Skyline handset with a Nokia Lumia 920-inspired design earlier this year. It features a 6.55-inch 144Hz pOLED screen, Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, and a 108-megapixel triple rear camera unit. A recent report suggests that the company is expected to unveil a new smartphone inspired by the design of another Nokia Lumia handset, namely the Nokia Lumia 1020. The moniker of this rumoured smartphone is not yet known. However, a leaked render has suggested the expected design elements of the purported phone.
Nokia Lumia 1020-Inspired HMD Smartphone: What We Know
A report by HMD News claims that Finnish OEM HMD is working on a smartphone said to be inspired by the Nokia flagship Lumia 1020 introduced in 2013. The publication shared a design render of this purported HMD handset, featuring a similar box-like build as the HMD Skyline.

The rumoured HMD smartphone is seen with a centre-aligned, circular rear camera module instead of the rectangular island present on the HMD Skyline. This circular camera unit is reminiscent of the older Nokia Lumia 1020, appearing with five smaller slots expected to house four cameras and one LED flash.
With optical image stabilisation support and a 41-megapixel primary rear camera sensor, the Nokia Lumia 1020 was a popular choice for camera enthusiasts. The Lumia 1020-inspired HMD handset may also lean towards being a camera-centric device. The report proposes that this HMD smartphone might also come in a striking bright yellow option, similar to the older Nokia model. As of now, no other specifications have emerged online, but more details are anticipated in the upcoming months.
