Enhancing Safety with Ring Technology

INDIANAPOLIS — In a significant move to support seniors and individuals living with disabilities, local organizations are offering 500 free Ring doorbell cameras to help maintain safety and independence. CICOA Aging & Disability Resource Center, in collaboration with USAging, aims to improve the quality of life for this vulnerable population through innovative technology.

Why Ring Technology Matters

According to Sandy Markwood, CEO of USAging, "Ring is a technology that addresses critical needs of older adults by adding a layer of safety and allowing them to see who is at their door." This initiative not only provides security but empowers seniors to age safely in their homes.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 60 or older, or a live-in caregiver for someone 60 or older
  • Have WiFi and a smart device to download the Ring app
  • Homeowner or possess written consent from the homeowner
  • Consent to participate in initial and follow-up assessments

Interested participants can call CICOA’s Aging & Disability Resource Center at (317) 803-6131 to apply for the program. Each Ring device includes a complimentary lifetime subscription, ensuring continuous support.
