Rays Launch Go-Ahead Entry Program for Enhanced Fan Experience
Revolutionizing Fan Entry with Facial Authentication
ST. PETERSBURG — Rays fans can now experience faster stadium entry with the new Go-Ahead Entry program starting this Friday at Tropicana Field. Leveraging advanced facial authentication technology, this initiative enables fans aged 18 and over to walk directly into the stadium without stopping to scan their tickets.
How the Program Works
- Fans register by uploading a photo through the MLB Ballpark app.
- The uploaded photo is converted to a unique code and subsequently deleted.
- Upon arrival, a facial scan generates a numerical token for entry.
According to Bill Walsh, the Rays’ chief business officer, this technology will significantly enhance the experience by reducing waiting times at entrances. Fans who register this homestand can also receive two complimentary tickets for any remaining home game.
Upcoming Highlights
- The Padres’ first visit to the Trop since 2016 features key players with ties to the Rays.
- The game will be available exclusively on AppleTV+, marking a shift in coverage.
- Local hero Bobby Finke will throw out the first pitch on opening day.
