Innovative Mapping of Chemical Industrial Parks in the Yangtze River Region
Introduction
Strengthening industrial pollution control in the Yangtze River is a fundamental national policy of China. This study highlights the lack of detailed distribution of chemical industrial parks (CIPs).
Methodology
- Random Forest (RF) and Active Learning techniques used to generate the distribution map.
- Map achieved at 10-meter resolution using Sentinel-2 imagery.
- Construction of a multidimensional feature space based on spectral and texture features.
Results
The classification of CIPs map was successfully executed on Google Earth Engine (GEE), showing a model accuracy of 80%. This technical validation along the entire Yangtze River demonstrates significant improvement over traditional methods.
Conclusion
As the first publicly available CIPs map within a 5-km range along the Yangtze River, this research provides a scientific basis for the fine governance of chemical industries in the region. Additionally, it offers a model guide for accurate identification of the chemical industry.
