Snapchat has broadened its collaboration with Google Cloud to enhance the generative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities of its My AI chatbot. This advanced technology allows for the processing and understanding of various forms of data including text, audio, images, and videos. Gemini AI, the driving force behind the features introduced at Snapchat's recent Snap Partner Summit, enables users to request My AI for tasks such as translating a foreign street sign image or selecting healthy meals from a menu.

Since integrating Gemini, Snapchat has observed over 2.5 times more user engagement within the US, according to Google. Snap CEO Evan Spiegel emphasized the significance of their partnership with Google Cloud, stating it is crucial for serving their community effectively. He noted that Snap aims to empower users to express themselves, learn, and enjoy their experiences.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian highlighted the role of Snapchat's user community in facilitating the adoption and learning of this advanced model. Notably, since the beginning of their collaboration, user interactions with the AI chatbot have tripled.
