Solana launched its latest smartphone, dubbed Seeker, promising a more affordable and feature-rich experience compared to its predecessor, the Saga. With upgraded hardware and potential rewards for meme coin holders, the Seeker aims to attract a wider audience to the Solana ecosystem.

Seeker's Enhancements Over Saga

During Token2049 in Singapore, Solana announced the Seeker mobile, priced at half of what Saga sold for. The Seeker features:

Seeker will also be lighter than Saga, as Solana hopes these revamps will attract potential buyers. Additionally, the phone offers significant crypto-specific improvements, including an in-built digital assets wallet linked to the device's partitioned Seed Vault key storage.

Leveraging the visionary experiences within the Seeker's capabilities, users can access a plethora of functions including DeFi, payments, games, and NFTs.

While it marks the network's second foray into smartphones, Solana Labs General Manager Emmett Hollyer states the company is not looking to compete against mobile giants. This follows criticism of the Saga's technical performance, which was deemed inferior to competitors like iPhone or Google Pixel.
