Discover macOS Sequoia: iPhone Mirroring and Upcoming Features

macOS Sequoia: A New Era of Seamless Integration

Apple officially released macOS Sequoia on Monday, bringing features like the ability to wirelessly mirror your iPhone on your Mac, window tiling tools, and more. The iPhone mirroring is arguably the coolest new feature in macOS Sequoia. During testing, my colleague reported it might change how users interact with their devices. Upon opening the phone mirroring app, your iPhone pops up, allowing navigation using your mouse and typing with your keyboard. Notifications from your iPhone also appear on your Mac, enhancing the connected experience. Furthermore, later this year, users will be able to drag and drop files between the iPhone and Mac.

Enhanced Window Management

I’m excited to explore the new window tiling features introduced in macOS Sequoia. As a longtime user of BetterSnapTool, the integration of these window tiling tools without the need for third-party apps is a welcome addition.

Future Features Awaiting Release

macOS Sequoia also includes features expanding to Apple’s other platforms, including a new Passwords app and upgrades to iMessage. Additionally, Apple Intelligence is set to enhance user capabilities with writing aids and image creation, although these tools are scheduled for release later this fall. Notably, Apple Intelligence will only support M1 chip Macs or newer.

Compatibility Updates

macOS Sequoia is compatible with:

  • iMacs from 2019 and later
  • iMac Pro
  • Mac Studio
  • Mac Pros from 2019 and later
  • Mac Minis from 2018 and later
  • MacBook Airs from 2020 and later
  • MacBook Pros from 2018 and later

Stay tuned for updates as more features roll out
