The Labour Ministry entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Cygnus Ujala to enhance employment accessibility in the healthcare sector through its National Career Service portal. This agreement follows two others previously signed with Amazon and TMI Group. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister of Labour and Employment, announced that 11 more partnerships are forthcoming. Collectively, these collaborations could provide around 25 lakh job vacancies on the NCS portal, significantly expanding access to meaningful employment for youth throughout the nation.

Key Features of the Agreement

  • The Cygnus Ujala Group will post job vacancies regularly on the NCS portal.
  • Job fairs will be organized at Model Career Centers (MCCs), providing face-to-face interaction between job seekers and Cygnus recruitment teams.
  • The partnership prioritizes employment opportunities for women, ensuring equal access to jobs.
  • Job seekers will gain access to healthcare roles, particularly in Tier II and Tier III cities.

This MoU is set for an initial duration of two years. Mandaviya emphasized the importance of the NCS portal as a vital platform for young job seekers across sectors, expanding its reach into healthcare with the Cygnus partnership. Enhanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, will improve the user experience on the portal. As of October 31, 2024, NCS reported 3.5 million registered employers and over 11 million active job seekers, contributing to 34.6 million vacancies mobilized since launch.
