The Excise Special Squad, in collaboration with the Drugs Control Department, recently conducted inspections that unveiled a troubling pattern of illegal prescription drug sales at various medical shops in Kochi. During a focused inspection at Spectrum Pharma, officials discovered tramadol tablets, which are under Schedule H1, being sold without the necessary documentation.

According to an official statement, the joint inspection executed at the Kadavanthra medical shop was prompted by information received by Excise Commissioner Mahipal Yadav. The findings revealed that from July, a total of 20,910 tramadol tablets had been purchased, with 18,535 sold and 2,758 sold without any records. Additionally, spasmonil tablets were found being sold improperly.
