Hancock Health Layoffs Impacting 50 Workers as Revenue Cycle Strategy Evolves
GREENFIELD, Ind. -- Starting in early November, 50 people are expected to be laid off from the Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, according to a recent Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification submitted to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. According to the WARN notice, Hancock Regional Hospital will lay off 50 workers on Nov. 3.
Officials with Hancock Health said that a number of workers' titles will be impacted, including:
- Revenue Cycle Analysts
- Billing Specialists
- Administrative Staff
In a statement from Steve Long, the chief executive officer of Hancock Health, he said about a year ago, the system engaged with a company called Revology to provide leadership to the hospital's revenue cycle team.
According to its website, Revology is a tech-enabled revenue cycle management firm. During the past year, Long said that a purely local approach would not be enough to meet future patient volumes.
