PlayStation Technical Presentation Scheduled

Sony is holding a PlayStation Technical Presentation tomorrow, just after teasing the PS5 Pro console. This nine-minute stream will be hosted by Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the PS5. Cerny previously revealed full PS5 specs ahead of its launch in 2020.

The stream is scheduled to start at 8AM PT / 11AM ET / 4PM UK on September 10th and will be broadcast on the PlayStation YouTube channel. Sony hasn’t shared further details about this technical presentation yet, but the hype surrounds the recently teased PS5 Pro in a 30th anniversary PlayStation image.

Teased Details of the PS5 Pro

The teaser included a PS5 design resembling the PS5 Pro leaks from last month. Leaked images show a console with three black stripes in the middle of the outer facades, contrasting the single stripe of the existing PS5 model. Sony's teaser also showcased a PS5 featuring those same three black stripes.

Developers have known for months that the PS5 Pro is indeed real, with preparations already underway to ensure compatibility for games releasing on or after September 16th.

PS5 Pro Specifications Revealed

Codenamed Trinity, the PS5 Pro model is set to feature a more powerful GPU and a slightly faster CPU mode, as per Sony documents seen by The Verge. These hardware changes indicate a console capable of achieving higher resolutions, improved frame rates for certain games, and enhanced ray tracing support.
