Preparing for the Fire Dragon Mauna Fight
There are two approaches you can take to build your party for this fight.
- Approach 1 - Ice Preparation
The first approach, which doesn’t involve any grinding, requires you to visit the merchant standing outside the Nord Mines rest area. Buy five Ice Chunks, which inflict a static 100 ice damage. As you might expect, the Fire Dragon is weak to Ice, making these crucial for your success.
- Approach 2 - Mage Team
If you don’t mind a bit of grinding, assemble a team of three rank two mages. Mages can cast Blizz natively, allowing you to forego Ice Chunks. However, ensure you have enough healing items to recover after any incoming damage.
Strategies to Defeat the Fire Dragon
There aren’t any complex mechanics to worry about here. The Fire Dragon can inflict slashing and fire damage.
- Exploit Weakness: Use the Blizz spell or your Ice Chunk items to inflict damage and gain extra turns.
- Guarding: If you have a Seeker in your party, ending turns with Guarding can prevent weaknesses from being exploited.
- Utilizing Items: Make sure to stock up on healing items; you’ll need them for survivability!
Upon victory, earn 263 EXP, 210 A-EXP, as well as treasures such as Amethyst and the Dragon's greatsword!
