Gaming News: Exciting Addition to Game Pass

During its Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2024 broadcast, Microsoft announced that it’s bringing some of the best real-time strategy campaigns of all time to Game Pass. StarCraft Remastered and StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection will be added to the subscription service on Nov. 5.

StarCraft will be the second classic Blizzard franchise to join the Game Pass fold since Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, following the addition of Diablo 4 in March. While all StarCraft and StarCraft 2 multiplayer modes are free-to-play, the real excitement lies in the inclusion of the games’ captivating single-player campaigns.

What’s Included in the Collection?

  • StarCraft Remastered: Features the original 1998 campaign and its expansion, Brood War.
  • StarCraft 2: Campaign Collection: Brings together:
    1. Wings of Liberty
    2. Heart of the Swarm
    3. Legacy of the Void
    4. Nova Covert Ops mission pack
    5. Co-op Commanders mode

These titles are exclusive to PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, with no console versions available. Microsoft still has plenty left to raid from the Blizzard vault.

Conclusion: The Future of Gaming Subscriptions

With many classics being revitalized through gaming subscription services, it will be interesting to see which franchises emerge next!
