SpaceX and Elon Musk: Aiming for Trillionaire Status by 2027

SpaceX and Elon Musk are on a remarkable trajectory, aiming for trillionaire status by 2027. Bloomberg's Billionaires Index has Musk currently at a staggering net worth of US$237 billion. Based on predictions from Informa Connect Academy, if Musk maintains an impressive annual growth rate of 110%, he could become the world's first trillionaire.

Eight companies have reached a trillion-dollar market cap, but none have achieved that as individuals. Following Musk's predicted success, Adani Group founder Gautam Adani and Barito Pacific founder Prajogo Pangestu are expected to follow in 2028. In contrast, Meta's Mark Zuckerberg is forecasted for 2030.

Musk’s wealth is significantly tied to his 20.5% stake in Tesla, which has experienced substantial fluctuations, including a notable 7% decline this year. Even with a rebound of US$7.73 billion increase since last year, he remains below his 2021 peak of approximately US$340 billion.

This year has not been easy for Musk. His endeavors with X have struggled to regain advertising revenue after his controversial reforms. Analysts from Fidelity estimate the value of X to be down an astonishing 71% since his takeover in late 2022.
