Coimbatore News Today: 1,645 MSMEs Initiate Operations in Tamil Nadu
Coimbatore: The MSME minister T M Anbarasan recently announced that 1,645 MSME units, which signed memoranda of understanding with the state government at the global investors meet in January, have begun operations in Tamil Nadu with an investment of ₹16,613 crore. These MSMEs have created over 60,000 jobs in the past eight months. The government is actively engaging with MSMEs that are lagging behind in project initiation, aiming to identify and resolve challenges they face. In a positive trend, 5,068 MSMEs expressed interest in launching new projects at the investors meet, expected to generate 2.5 lakh jobs with a cumulative investment of ₹63,573 crore.
The DMK government has facilitated the creation of 30,326 entrepreneurs in the past three years via loan support of ₹2,615 crore, resulting in three lakh new jobs.
