The suspect of the assault, whose name has not been released, was found dead by deputies, according to Rensselaer County Sheriff Kyle Bourgault.
Details of the Investigation
On August 22, the RCSO responded to what was initially reported as a home invasion on Anders Road in Pittstown. Arriving deputies located a woman in need of medical attention, who was taken to a local hospital. The ensuing investigation determined that the woman had been violently assaulted by her brother, who fled the home on foot.
