Riyadh Air, backed by Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, is currently in negotiations with Cathay Pacific Airways to potentially establish a code-sharing arrangement. In a recent interview, Riyadh Air's chief financial officer, Adam Boukadida, revealed that the airline has placed a multibillion-dollar order for 60 Airbus A321 jets this week. The airline aspires to connect to at least 100 different destinations by the year 2030.

By code-sharing, Riyadh Air can leverage Cathay Pacific’s established global network of over 80 destinations, while Cathay Pacific will gain access to more connections in the Middle East. Boukadida noted that “Cathay is a great airline” and that Riyadh Air is always open to seeking effective partnerships.
